boss looks at youngsters for first team

Trevor Senior thinks several of his Dorchester Town youth team

will turn out for the Magpies' 1st XI

Under -18s' boss Senior said: "I have been getting good feedback from the club directors. They seem pleased. We had seven youth players in the recent reserves' squad which went to Holt United and by all accounts they did well. From that side of it, things have gone well.

"Phil Basford (general manager) has put a lot of hard work into it behind the scenes and looks after

the administration and organising things.

"Tony Chutter helps me with the coaching. All three of us really enjoy it and i hope that carries on.

"A few of the squad will find their way into the first team. Darren watts has been the inform player recently. We tied him down after a number of weeks of trying to get him. he has had experience at Yeovil Town, Southampton and AFC Bournemouth and has caught the eye.

"We managed to get Sam Clarke to play for us as well-he is ex-Dorchester United and some of the younger ones, who will have another year left with us, also look promising."

Senior has already turned his attention to the 2007-08 campaign. "We are starting to watch games for players coming through," he said. "Half the current team will be too old next year and we are going to need replacements. We have already looked at our under-16 side and there are one or two who caught the eye.

"We will also be looking further afield and will try to attract the better players from around the area to make us a stronger proposition next season."
