CLUB
INFORMATION...
This
page about Dorchester Town Youth Football Club (DTYFC) is intended to
tell you about what we do, who we are, and what we stand for. We started out
as Cosmos Boys Football Club in 1984 which grew in size to become the
largest boys’ football club in Dorchester. We then became Dorchester
Cosmos FC and in 2001 we amalgamated with Dorchester Town Football Club and
became DTYFC. In 2003 we amalgamated with Dorchester Ladies. We now provide
football training and competitive football matches for boys and girls
between the ages of 5 and 18, with an emphasis, particularly in the early
years, on participation and enjoyment. We rely almost entirely on the
parents of our players who give generously of their time and effort in
coaching, managing teams, refereeing, fund raising activities and carrying
out the organisational activities which are performed by the working
committee. DTYFC is made up professional coachers, referees and sponsors.
Some of whom have made it there life.

The Club has a formal
constitution and Codes of Conduct for players, coaches, parents/spectators
and team officials, in line with good practice recommended by the Football
Association. All of our managers and coaches are required to receive
training from the Dorset County Football Association in the various aspects
of youth football coaching, which includes child protection. We have applied
for FA Charter Standard status and expect this to be awarded to us this
season.
The Club welcomes
players of all abilities and this season sees the introduction of our new
Football Development Center, which is aimed at providing additional high
standard coaching and support for those who are keen to further improve
their technique and skills in the sport.
